63, Social Worker
We are the Smith family, Ken and Bethne. We live in Dargaville and have lived here for the last 14 years. At the beginning of this year we give up our rental to house sit in Arapohue which is just out of Dargaville, This is a semi permanent arrangement until at least the end of July 2020. Our duties include taking care for a wonderful little dog and keeping the grounds and house clean and tidy. The owner of the property comes home periodically so we try to find little house sitting jobs when she is home.
Ken is 70 has has retired from bus driving and fills in his time with his work for the Dargaville Lions and volunteers for Whanau Focus Centre at which I work has a Social Worker. I am 63 and plan to retire when I hit 65.
At the beginning of this year we decided to down size so what little stuff we own is in storage. We also brought a 18ft caravan in which we intend to travel around New Zealand in when I finally finish work .
We only discovered the Kiwi House Sitters web site very recently and are currently in the middle of our first job through Kiwi House Sitters. We hope to have many smaller jobs over the next year or so and build up our profile.
