Featherston South Wairarapa

Looking for a house and pet sitter for three weeks in the charming town of Featherston.

We have one 2 ½ year old female German Shepard and will have a young (less than 6 month old male) German Shepard pup. Our older girl is not-reactive and has a sweet nature, but is working line. Confidence and experience with high energy and high drive dogs would be beneficial. Having the two dogs would most likely suit a couple. She will require two walks a day (total of about 1 ½ hours exercise) as well as mental stimulation (puzzle games) Our young pup will just require play and socialisation. As well as being crated for naps.

We also have 3 chooks in a fully enclosed coop out back. They will need feeding an eggs collected (if they’ve started laying).

We own our home, which is a private three-bedroom house. Warm and dry with an internal fireplace. 7-minute walk from train station and less than 10 minute walk to town centre. We have a home office with two work stations and monitors, a home gym which includes squat rack and weights. Reliable Fibre internet connection. espresso machine, and Smart TV, including Netflix, and SkySport.

No extensive gardening required, besides giving the lawns a mow once while we are away.

Featherston is a charming book town with great Saturday farmers vege-market and French bakery that does some of the best coffee in Wellington. The brac n bow pub (where Ed Sheeran stopped on his was to Wellington) have amazing meals, or the local RSA is inviting if a traditional pub meal is more your style. You’re also only 20 minutes from Martinborough and wineries.

It would be great to meet you a week or two before we leave to introduce you to the dogs and show you their routines, the property, and her favourite walking spots.
