Our dogs are very loving and thrive on human companionship. They really enjoy being taken for walks especially on the beach. They are also happy to just chill and keep you company at home.
Waikawa Beach is a place of unspoiled natural beauty offering a very relaxed lifestyle. At the same time it is situated between the towns of Levin and Otaki and within reach of the cities Wellington and Palmerston North. We live in a three-bedroomed house with views over the countryside and a short walk to the beach.
The dates and duration are a little negotiable to suit sitters as flights are not yet booked.
Three poodles, Gus, Molly and Rosie accepted us so quickly as their surrogate parents. We had so much fun letting them run on the beach and taking them for walks. They were so well behaved and playful and loved to cuddle up with us on the sofa. Joy’s home is in a beautiful, peaceful location. Joy was very welcoming and we are very grateful that Joy chose us to look after her little treasures!
We enjoyed looking after Gussie & Molly for Joy - they are such fun dogs. Joy was an excellent communicated and gave us all the instructions that we needed. She also ensured we were comfortable in her house. We would happily return to look after Gussie & Molly again.
I had a wonderful time here at this beautiful location with these two woolly muffens.
Joy is a delightful lady, she made me feel right at home.
I miss Molly and Gussie already.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere in Joy's house and the dogs were fun. We were able to communicate with Joy via text during the time of our sit, which was reassuring as the needs of one dog changed, and we could also check that we were following the feeding instructions correctly. Thanks Joy.
We house and pet sat for Joy during 1 week in January 2018 looking after Billy, Itzi and Kell's....All three dogs were a hoot and despite their advanced ages were no problem at all. Sadly Kells passed a few weeks after our stay but memory of her courage goes on. Waikawa Beach is a great place and we were pleased Joy got to be with her family up country at such a special time.....Joys acknowledgment of our efforts in caring for her beloved pets is heart warming.
House sitting is a fun, immersive way to experience this magnificent country - without paying a cent for accommodation!
