I am a retired woman living my dream on a small hobby farm. I have 4 donkeys , a mule for riding if you like, 9 Sheep Thomas the cat , , 4 hens and 3 one ducks
Donkey's are delightful and fun to be around but need to have strict food intake.. No lawns or gardening needed...Comfortable home with pleasant native bush outlook...Open fire for those winter nights. 2k from small town with great coffee and usual shops. There is a waterfall 5k with a swimming hole . Waipu Beach and a great walk at the Cove. The glow worm caves are 30mins away. A private peaceful spray free place.. . .If you feel this would be a fit for you I would love to hear from you Regards Karen.
I thoroughly enjoyed taking care of all the critters (the cattle, the duck, the hens, the donkeys, the goat, the sheep, the lambs and the cat) at Karen's Farm. They were all very appreciative and never caused a problem. Communications were spot on and I simply loved the challenge. Location very rural with all its advantages. Would love to return. Thanks Karen.
Karen was absolutely lovely to meet. Be mindful, however, that she may change plans with short notice, at her discretion, which can be difficult for sitters who have booked travel and made arrangements planned around her dates. This was unfortunately the case for us.
What an awesome place to house sit for. Karen is awesome and her family of animals were great. Good communication and a warm and friendly home.
Thank you Karen for the opportunity to spend a week with your delightful menagerie. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the adorable donkeys, Gus the beautiful old goat, Thomas the cat, and everyone else. They all have their own wonderful personalities, and a pleasure to get to know. And thanks for your generosity, including home baking on my arrival.
We stayed for five weeks at Karen's to look after the critters & house. This was our first housesit, not to mention we had very little idea about the donkeys... We enjoyed our stay to the fullest: things went smoothly and if we had any question communication with Karen was effortless. Her farm is lovely, all the animals are really kind and you can tell they are loved and well kept as they are so easy to get along with! We will miss our new furry friends and would sit for Karen again!
We LOVED house sitting for Karen! We got an excellent and unique experience to watch over donkeys, sheep, goats, cows, ducks, chickens, and Thomas the cat. The house was wonderful, the land a dream to explore, the animals were cute as can be and Karen was easy and fun to communicate with. I would love to house sit for Karen again in the future!
Karen's place is a little piece of heaven! There are animals galore and such a beautiful home. we had a wonderful time staying there and would do so again :)
