Best of town and rural! Excellent setting and location to explore central North Island

Traditional kiwi lifestyle cottage located on a farm, within 5 minute drive of Marton township

Marton is equipped with good amenities: two supermarkets, high street, bakeries, hardware stores etc. Well connected with access to State Highways allowing easy travel and exploring around central North Island

*nearest beaches, Turikina (20 mins), Scott’s Ferry (30 mins), and other popular beaches not too much further e.g Foxton, Kai Iwi
*Wellington (2 hrs), Feilding and Whanganui (25 mins), Palmerston North (50 mins), Taupo (2.5hrs)
*endless outdoor adventure on the doorstep, Rangitikei River access (10 mins), Ruahine Ranges, Desert Road, National Park, gateway to Tongariro, Taranaki, Hawkes Bay etc all do-able in day trips

I myself am from the UK and have found Marton to be a great place to explore the rest of the central North Island from :)

Myself and my partner are visiting family overseas for 2 months, and exploring the possibility of a house sitter (singles/couples/families welcome) to help look after our lovely working dogs while we are away

They are all very obedient and loving. We are hoping to find someone who will enjoy their company, is able to exercise them once or twice a day on the property, feed them, and ensure their general health / wellbeing!

We live with:
+ Buck, 6yo male huntaway, absolute goofball and chief snuggler
+ Lady, 7yo heading dog, matriarch, and keen cuddle giver
+ Puma, 1yo male heading dog, absolute sweetie, extremely soft natured and can take a while to get comfortable with new people
+ Suzie, 1yo female heading dog, lovely sweet natured
+ Buster, Diva and Star, 4 month old crazy pups (from Lady). Can remain in section, won’t need to come on walks!

Providing they get on well with other dogs, are 100% stock safe around animals (property located on a sheep farm) and house safe, we’d love for you to feel able to bring your fur family along with you! (We are also located a (fair sized) paddock away from a road fyi)

Accomodation is a small, two (double) bedroom farm cottage, which would have been a ‘single man’s quarters’ back in the day. Equipped with heat pump, fast wifi etc. It’s warm and cosy, but it is an ‘old / original’ house, nothing too flash and has many of the original fittings eg Kitchen etc, but with installed electronics such as dishwasher
