Kia Ora,
My partner Nicole and I are here to look after your home and your (furry) loved ones, promising to show respect and compassion. We are travelers at heart which takes us away from our family pets, hence why we wanted to make this profile. We miss that connection and know that days are better when you have a pal to spend it with and look after. We are currently doing our first house sit in NZ for a co-worker's home with 1 Dog and 1 Cat ( Goldie and Dozer). We have loved this experience and the connection we've developed with them.
We know that it's a big responsibility we're taking on and want you to have confidence in us with such special members of the family and home.
A little background about us:
I (Zachary) have been working in National Parks for the last 3 years in the States for the Historic Many Glacier Hotel. Pets are not allowed on the National Park Trails but they do frequent the hotels and Its always such a pleasure to see them come in. Living out in the wild country has given me the luxury of seeing wild animals in their natural habitat. This has given me a broader respect for all animals and how to read and anticipate how our actions might be affecting their moods which has translated to our less wild animals at home. I grew up with a dog named Mona and a Cat named Louie. They were my pals and raising them made me feel fulfilled. That mutual connection of care taker and cared for was a beautiful balance that taught me many lessons on how to treat others, furry or not. even if they're not furry.
I (Nicole) am a primary teacher who loves to travel and explore the outdoors. I grew up with two cats (Tabby & Taylor), a large flower garden, and frequently helped care for the various animals on my grandparents' ranch. I've been pet/house sitting since I was a teenager and know how important it is to maintain the routine of a household, especially while away. As a house sitter, I promise to keep your spaces just as clean and tidy as you left them, your animals loved and cared for, and your plants happy and healthy.
Thank you for considering us as potential sitters and we look forward to meeting you and seeing more of New Zealand on our working holiday!
Kindly,
Zachary & Nicole
